Detoxification

We are all exposed to many toxins over the course of our lives, no matter how hard we may try to avoid them. Some come from manufactured products while some are from air and water pollution. In the main we are protected from these toxins by the foods we eat, many of which have nutrients that reduce damage and aid detoxification.

The body does naturally detox ever day. However, one’s body must constantly work to stay on top of its toxic load in order to prevent the development of diseases that can be associated with impaired detoxification.

Many fruit and vegetables have excellent cleansing properties which support the natural detox process.  Green vegetables, in particular, contain chlorophyll which has a cleansing and healing effect on the digestive tract and liver.

Some people need to pay more attention to supportingg the body’s natural detoxification system more than others and there are a range of symptoms that indicate whether or not this important for you.
